It Certainly Felt Like Winter At Chanel's Fall 2019 Runway Show

Nobody does a runway show quite like Chanel, and if you can expect one thing it’s that the bags will always correlate to the season for which they are being shown. Case in point, Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2019 bags. Shearling was sprinkled throughout the collection on everything from classic flap bags and belt bags to an Aztec printed backpack. Then, there were the globe-like bags, which upon further investigation appear to be a tiny version of an enclosed ski lift. I’ll call it the Gondola bag, and it is as fabulous as the Chanel novelty purses that have come before it.

There was no shortage of winter white bags either, which perfectly complimented the snow-themed world that Chanel set for its Fall 2019 collection. The scene was serene and beautiful, an almost poetic dedication to Karl Lagerfeld. And while the scene itself was beautiful and elaborate the bags themselves played it mostly safe. Noteable favorites include a smooth leather flap bag as well as a quilted flap bag accented with tiny pearl detailing. A Reissue also appeared in a bright orange, which was a nice juxtaposition to the classic shape. View the entirety of the collection below.
