Why This Limited Edition Louis Vuitton x Urs Fischer Bag Earns Endless Compliments

In early 2021, Louis Vuitton teamed up with Swiss contemporary artist Urs Fischer for a collection that completely reinvented the classic LV Monogram. The range spanned bags, accessories, and ready-to-wear, and I was instantly captivated. My usual practicality vanished—every other bag on my wishlist became irrelevant. I knew I had to own a piece from this collection.

Thanks to a helpful sales associate I had worked with before, I managed to secure the LV x UF Pochette Accessoires in the black-and-white colorway. This bag features a hand-drawn iteration of the classic LV Monogram, created by Urs Fischer in a free-form, spontaneous style that is visually striking.

A Limited-Edition Bag to Love

The bag's body is crafted from coated canvas, while the Monogram letters and flowers are applied using a soft, velvet-like material through a technique called tuffetage. Not only is the print visually unique, but it's also tactile—the Monogram is raised, adding an interesting dimension.

In my opinion, this collaboration was incredibly underrated. It received less buzz than other limited-edition releases, and many pieces remained available for months after launch. The LV x UF Pochette is one of the most special items in my collection.

For the first couple of years, I rarely carried it, choosing to (uncharacteristically) baby it. Yet every time I wore it, I received compliments from some of New York's most stylish people—both acquaintances and strangers. The most common remark was, "I've never seen a bag like that before!"
