Chloé's Shanghai Resort Show: New Bag Styles and Iconic Updates

Chloé made history with its first-ever Resort runway show, held on the rooftop of the Long Museum in Shanghai at sunset. Creative Director Natacha Ramsay-Levi presented a collection that captivated the audience, and while the focus is often on the accessories, the ready-to-wear was equally stunning. As a self-proclaimed #ChloéGirl, I found the entire presentation mesmerizing.

Bag Highlights from the Show

The bags were, of course, the main attraction. Among the standout pieces were the revamped versions of the ever-popular Faye bag. A vibrant pink Faye in thick, luxurious grain leather featured a charming mini top handle, while a black crossbody version came with a chic chain strap. These updates stay true to the classic design while adding a fresh twist, proving that if it isn't broken, you can still enhance it.

The Return of the Paddington Lock

The iconic Paddington lock made a significant comeback for Fall 2019, appearing prominently on both new and existing bag silhouettes. One notable piece was a new shoulder bag that combined the lock with a hybrid bucket-hobo shape, creating a unique and stylish accessory.

Interestingly, the Tess and Drew bags were noticeably absent from the collection, marking a shift away from those popular styles for the first time in several years. This move signals a new direction for the house, embracing innovation while honoring its heritage.
